HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee met with H. E Mr. Olzhas Bektanov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Mr. Gennadiy Golovkin, President of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, during his regional tour that included Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan.

During the meetings, they discussed aspects of sports cooperation between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance them, in addition to supporting efforts to develop sport in the region.
