His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived on Tuesday, 11^th October 2022 in Astana on a state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan. HH The Amir and the accompanying delegation were welcomed upon arrival at Astana International Airport by HE President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mukhtar Tileuberdi, HE Special Envoy of HE the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for International Cooperation Erzhan Kazykhan, HE Mayor of Astana Altai Kulginov, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Kazakhstan Abdulaziz bin Sultan Al Rumaihi, HE Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Qatar Arman Issagaliyev, and members of the diplomatic corps at the Qatari embassy.

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani was accorded an official reception ceremony with the participation of the Guard of Honor on the occasion of his visit to Kazakhstan at the Ak Orda Presidential Palace in the capital Astana on Wednesday, 12^th October 2022.



His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held an official session of talks with HE President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Ak Orda Presidential Palace in the capital Astana. During the talks session, the two sides discussed cooperation ties between the two countries and ways of enhancing and developing them, mainly in the fields of economy, investment, culture and sports, in addition to regional and international issues of common concern.



The session was attended by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, HE Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, and a number of Their Excellencies member of the official delegation. On the Kazakh side, the session of talks was attended by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mukhtar Tileuberdi, HE Deputy Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Timur Suleimenov, HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Integration Serik Zhumangarin, HE Special Envoy of the President of Kazakhstan for International Cooperation Erzhan Kazykhan, HE Chairman of the Sovereign Wealth Fund "Samruk-Kazyna" Almasadam Satkaliev, HE Minister of Defense Ruslan Zhaksylykov, HE Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev, and a number of high-ranking officials.

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HE President of the friendly Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attended the signing ceremony of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries, at the Ak Orda Presidential Palace in the capital Astana.

HH The Amir and HE the President of Kazakhstan attended the signing of a protocol on amendments to an agreement on the abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and special passports, an agreement on the encouragement and reciprocal protection of investments, and a memorandum of understanding in the field of trade.

The two sides also witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement in the fields of higher education, graduate studies and sciences; the first executive program in the field of sports for the years 2023-2025; the executive program in the fields of culture and arts for the years 2023-2025; a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields of tourism and business events; a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the agricultural field, and a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of diplomatic training.

They also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding in matters of joint cooperation in the field of health care; a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields of standardization, conformity assessment and metrology; a twinning agreement between the Doha Municipality and the Akimat of the city of Astana; a memorandum of understanding between Qatar University and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University; a memorandum of understanding between Hassad Food Company and the National Management Holding "Baiterek"; and a memorandum of understanding between Qatar Mining and the "Tau-Ken Samruk" company. In addition, a number of memoranda of understanding were signed between the private sector companies in the State of Qatar and the private sector companies in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
